Annie's Philosophy

We believe that the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual components of our vital health and longevity are intricately connected.  Our comprehensive approach to the signposts of illness & disease symptom patterns support the body’s own innate intelligence, or vital force, so that you may fully heal over time.

Through our integrated approach to your symptoms, conditions, and self-care we monitor the physical development and the health of both you and your family; educate you on how to maintain a healthy physiology and lifestyle; and answer your questions on nutrition, exercise, your optimal health development and your changing body.

By caring for you and your family we strive to help prepare you for the transitions and cycles going on in your life before they become problems or serious illness.  We believe in spontaneous remission once we unravel the symptoms you are experiencing, and treat them as layers or signposts of the original cause of disease.

We offer the following full services and treatment of conditions:

women's health

beach-beautiful-dawn-40192.jpg

These issues relate to conditions caused by hormones specific to females. Women’s health issues include menstruation, PMS, menopause,  perimenopause, PCOS, fertility and conception, breast tissue, uterine and ovarian symptoms. This can also include medical situations in which women face problems not directly related to their natural medicine biology. Here, even with early stage allopathic diagnosis, Annie can work with preventative treatments related to genetic markers, cancer and other life threatening female diagnoses.

We specialize in women’s hormonal issues such as chronic fatigue, pain conditions, weight management, insomnia, low libido, skin conditions and mood issues such as depression, anxiety, anger & more.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is amongst the oldest healing practices in the world.  A key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it stimulates  points on the body with manual manipulation using needles.  According to the traditional Chinese medicine approach, stimulating specific acupuncture points corrects imbalances in the flow of the healing life force, qi, through channels known as meridians.  Acupuncture can treat many conditions, from insomnia to stress relief to acute or chronic pain. The following is placeholder text known as “lorem ipsum,” which is scrambled Latin used by designers to mimic real copy. Natural Medicine

Natural or holistic medicine is an integrative approach to health and healing that recognizes the integrity and inherent healing capacity of the individual person. Natural medicine principles respect the intelligence of nature’s healing process within the body. Methods of treatment are chosen to work with the patient’s own vital force, and include therapies such as herbal medicine, nutrition, and dietary supplements.

Natural Hormone Balancing

Hormones are chemical messengers in the body that travel the bloodstream to the organs and tissues. They work slowly and affect many of the body’s processes. Endocrine glands, which are special groups of cells, make hormones. Hormonal imbalance, if left untreated, can result in serious medical conditions and at the very least a series of dysfunctions in the body causing extreme changes to healthy, usual patterns. We unravel the main endocrine dysfunctions present in the pituitary, thyroid, thymus, adrenals, pineal, parathyroid, hypothalamus, and pancreas glands and use natural methods for rebalancing. This includes working with natural supplements to balance estrogen/progesterone levels in women and testosterone in men.

Functional Endocrinology

The endocrine system consists of several glands, all in different parts of the body, that secrete hormones directly into the blood affecting distant receptor sites. Hormones have many different functions and modes, one hormone may have several effects on different target organs, and, conversely sometimes hormonal receptors become blocked and hormones become imbalanced. We treat the relationships between these organs, glands and hormones in a functional protocol. Through applied kinesiology, we specifically track the pathways of communication and treat multiple glands simultaneously as needed with natural medicines.

This often can include acupuncture treatments, homeopathy, bioenergetic therapies and nutritional supplementation.

Clinical Nutrition

Our primary focus is to rebuild your endocrines and organs with concentrated nutrients in supplement form.   Glandular extracts and protomorphogens (PMGs)  support the specific organ in healthy cell replication.  Over time, the body will re-balance itself with specific nutrition, including electrolytes, amino acids, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, probiotics and vitality-enhancing cell-specific nutrients.  Healing can be facilitated with alkalinizing foods, nutrients and water.

Detoxification

Detoxification is the physiological or medicinal removal of toxic substances from a living organism.  Detox can refer to the period of withdrawal during which an organism returns to homeostasis after long-term use of a toxic or addictive substance. In natural medicine, detoxification can be achieved by decontamination of chemical or drug poisons such as food additives, refined/processed foods, fungal, yeast, bacterial or viral agents, parasites,or undigested proteins which lodge in the body. The use of homeopathic antidotes, liver cleansers, and enzymes taken on an empty stomach are the primary nutritional therapies used to allow the body to heal over time.

Thyroid Metabolism:

Like the gas pedal in your car, this gland gives you that “get up and go”. An under-active thyroid, or hypothyroidism, causes your metabolism to slow down, leading to weight gain, fatigue, depression, brain fog, lack of motivation, thinning hair, constipation, an imbalance in other hormones, and a host of other symptoms. Approximately 80% of women I see over age 35 have an unspoken hypothyroid imbalance. Knowing how to support this gland or track its symptoms can be difficult without natural care, as this condition usually is not reflected in lab blood tests.  Hyperthyroidism, or Grave’s disease, can often be treated successfully with natural methods.  Here, it is important to support the compensating organ such as the pituitary or heart.

Brain Mood Optimization:

Emotional stress has profound effects on our physical bodies, which if sustained over long periods of time become physiological patterns.  These patterns have trigger points in the body that breakdown the pathways between the brain, the nervous system, the endocrines and the organ functionalities.

Brain cells do reproduce, so healing is possible!

Using specific amino acids, B vitamins, protomorphogens (PMGs), electrolytes, and fatty acids, we first clean up the organs and hormones supporting the nervous system and brain. We then support the neurotransmitter pathways to rebalance the deep cellular imprints that create the dysfunctional patterns.  As clients progress and recover from traumas, PTSD, prolonged stress, mood disorders, surgeries and EMFs & cell or radio frequency overexposure, more joy and sense of aliveness can occur.

Natural Weight Loss:

Hypothyroidism can cause a sluggish metabolism, or weight gain at any point during a woman’s life.  Reducing insulin resistance, increasing levels of essential fatty acids and balancing blood sugar play a critical role in losing weight. It’s critical to balance the hormones and brain neurotransmitters, while increasing energy through exercise and non-GMO food in order to curb cravings before any attempt at weight loss.

Through clinical nutrition, glandular extracts, resetting the hypothalamus, balancing the pancreas, thyroid & liver and flushing toxins, fats, sugars and triglycerides through the circulatory systems, natural weight loss can be achieved.

Longevity Medicine:

This form of preventative functional medicine is based firmly on science. It covers physiological pattern responses of major diseases, risk factors, and the natural interventions that have been tested and shown to improve anti-aging outcomes.  Regardless of genetic programming, there are nutritional methodologies to support the body’s health foundation to slow degeneration and thus extend life.

The use of acupuncture and homeopathy can help particularly in natural hormonal balance, brain and mood health, insomnia, weight control, healthy diet, desire to exercise, and proven interventions like naturopathic nutrition and the anti-aging use of nutrients.

Liver Function Optimization:

The liver is the largest gland in the body and the only internal organ that actually regenerates itself if part of it is damaged. Up to 25% of the liver can be removed and it will grow back to its original shape and size. Supporting this organ is key in a functional endocrine system and the most important to optimal balance of all the systems of the body.  All unabsorbed nutrients, chemicals and many of our bodies’ metabolic processes are cleared through the liver.  The liver performs many different metabolic and regulatory functions, including estrogen and hormone deconjugation, glycogen hypoglycemia, toxin elimination, lymphatic and anemia support.

Vibrant health and balance for the whole person, mind, body and spirit are possible if the liver is functioning optimally.

Stress Reduction:

Stress is the reaction of the physical body to adjust or adapt in light of change. Since change is an element of being alive, we can’t really expect to be stress free.  However, we can explore ways to reduce the stressors in our lives and learn new ways to manage & respond to stress which can’t be avoided.  Using certain herbs, supportive nutrition, glandular formulas, acupuncture treatment, & lifestyle assessment, the body can reduce and manage stress better.

Adrenal Fatigue:

Photo by xavigm/iStock / Getty Images

is produced when your adrenal glands cannot adequately meet the demands of stress. The adrenal glands mobilize your body’s responses to every kind of stress (whether physical, emotional, or psychological) through hormones that regulate energy production and storage, immune function, heart rate, muscle tone, and other processes that allow you to cope with stress. No matter the origin of stress, if your adrenals are healthy, theycan respond to the stress maintaining homeostasis or a certain balance.  If their response is inadequate, then degrees of adrenal fatigue, insomnia, brain fog, immune issues and a host of other disorders occur because the output of regulatory hormones has been diminished. Over-stimulation and chronic stress have a cumulative effect, depleting DHEA, affecting cortisol levels and preventing the body from true healing.

Adrenal fatigue is often the first stop of a functional body.

Allergies & Immunity:

The immune system is the body’s key mechanism of defense against infection, but also the system responsible for pathological allergic reactions to harmless substances. Because the immune system can easily damage cells, it is important to limit the response to just those things which are harmful to the body, and prevent the immune system from attacking harmless substances - as is sometimes the case in allergic reactions. Working with the thymus, spleen, and food intolerances, we then provide a build up of nutrients, increasing immunity so there is less susceptibility to allergens.

Infertility & Pre-Conception:

Many factors are present that may cause infertility in both men and women such as; reduced sperm counts, chemical medication suppression, radiation, second hand cigarette smoke, exposure to environmental estrogens, ovulatory dysfunction, effects of the aging process, amenorrhea, past infections, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis to name a few.  Natural medicine works on balancing the women’s hormones and for men, focuses on increasing the function of the testes to produce sperm count and optimal levels of testosterone.

The treatment includes balancing the ovaries, the pituitary and the thyroid with nutritional supplementation as well as suggesting changes in lifestyle, such as reducing certain exposures to toxicity.

Applied Kinesiology:

Applied Kinesiology (AK, or muscle response testing) is a diagnostic tool to determine food allergies, imbalances in organs (e.g. the liver, pancreas), endocrines (e.g. adrenal glands, thyroid), the nervous system, emotions, and more. An AK practitioner tests the patient’s neuro-muscular system to find deficiencies, and then corrects them using natural supplements. Annie combines AK with MediPoint, a computer software program using an ampular test kit. Based on the law of compensation and homeostasis in the body, MediPoint is a standardized holistic approach to natural medicine. Patient handouts give detailed explanations of each organ or endocrine imbalance and holistic treatment protocols.  Annie herself experienced a healing from pre-cancerous cells via an AK practitioner over 30 years ago.

Digestive Health:

In order to have a properly functioning immune system, a healthy digestive system is the first step.  Nearly three quarters of your body’s immune system and neurotransmitter production dwells in the digestive tract, having a profound effect on overall health. Maintaining a healthy balance of intestinal microflora is one of the best ways to build and enhance digestive health and the immune system. Treatment here depends on the symptoms; history of antibiotic use, thyroid health,  swollen stomach, crohn’s disease, IBS, colitis, and leaky gut are all factored into treatment.

We use enzymatic therapies to clear protein toxins, provide nutritional support for digestive organ function, as well as recommendations for proper elimination.

Men’s Health:

These health issues are specific to human male anatomy. They often relate to fatigue and energy problems, thyroid, testes or mental issues such as depression as seen in andropause.  Here we treat the men's symptoms with applied kinesiology, naturopathy, acupuncture, nutritional supplementation, male glandular therapy (for hormone support), and bio-energetic treatments.

Bio-Energetic Therapies:

These therapies are a form of psycho-dynamic physiological therapy that combines hands-on and Reiki healing, breath and energy work, electro-dynamic light frequencies, the electrical Medipoint system and vibrational medicines. These therapies work with body/mind connection to clear specific patterns of dysfunction and musculature deficiencies while relieving suppressed emotions and constrictive patterns in the body. As clients progress and recover from traumas, PTSD, prolonged stress, surgeries, and blocked expression, safe and supportive connections are experienced allowing for more joy and a sense of aliveness to occur. Many of these therapies can be done during distance sessions.

These are great tools for waking up!

Homeopathy:

Homeopathy is energy medicine, proven again and again over the last 250 years!

At Annie’s Rejuvenation Clinic, Homeopathy is used in different ways. Low potencies can support mineral/vitamin absorption and organ/endocrine function; medium potencies can detox from foods, toxins and open receptor sites; high potencies can clear miasms (“dark cloud” energy, where you just don’t feel good and can’t heal); constitutional remedies support physical, mental, emotional & spiritual healing.  Many people, especially highly sensitive folks, really respond well to homeopathy.  With energetic muscle testing, the body gives specific feedback as to which remedy and potency is appropriate.
